What is a sworn translation of a consent form?<\/h3>\n

A sworn translation<\/a> is a translation produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). This translator is sworn in by a Dutch court and can be found through Bureau Wbtv. The translator provides the translation with a stamp, a signature and a statement that the translation matches the source document. This makes your translated consent form<\/a> legally valid and accepted by official authorities.<\/p>\n

Why have a consent form translated under oath?<\/h3>\n

A consent form<\/a> for a minor is usually a declaration that the parent or guardian draws up and signs themselves. For use abroad an ordinary translation is often not enough. A sworn translation<\/a> shows that the content has been transferred correctly and gives the foreign authority certainty about its authenticity. If the document also needs to be recognised in a country outside the Netherlands, an apostille<\/a> needed.
