Apply for a VOG with apostille for use abroad
Do you want to have your Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for use abroad? Then the foreign authority usually asks for an apostillefor you. What is an apostille on a VOG?
A apostille is a stamp under the Apostille Convention (the Hague Convention of 1961). The stamp confirms that your VOG is a genuine, official Dutch document. Countries that are party to this convention then accept your VOG without further legalisation. That is over 140 countries. The VOG itself is issued by Justis, part of the Ministry of Justice and Security; the court then places the apostille.

How do I apply for an apostille on my VOG?
You send us your original paper VOGby post. We request the apostille from the court and send the certified document back to you.
Can I have my VOG apostilled online?
The application starts online: you order from us and send your original VOG by post. For an apostille a paper document is needed; a digital VOG is not enough.
Can a notary place the apostille?
No. Only the court places the apostillein such cases. A notary can certify a signature; for a VOG from Justis that is not necessary.
Do I also need a sworn translation besides the apostille?
That depends on the requirements of the foreign authority. If they ask for a translation, we also provide the sworn translation of your VOG with apostille.

Waaraan moet uw document voldoen voor een apostille?
Apostilles kunnen alleen worden geplaatst op originele documenten die zijn afgegeven door een officiële Nederlandse instantie of beëdigd persoon.
Denk hierbij aan:
- beëdigde vertalingen met stempel en handtekening
- papieren gewaarmerkte KvK-uittreksels ondertekend door KvK-medewerker
- VOG's op papier afgegeven door Justis (Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid)
- notariële aktes ondertekend door de notaris
- geboorte-, trouw en overlijdensaktes ondertekend door de ambtenaar van de burgerlijke stand
- documenten ondertekend door beëdigde ambtenaren van het ministerie (o.a. Financiën, Buitenlandse Zaken en Justitie & Veiligheid)
- documenten van rechterlijke instanties, zoals documenten van het Openbaar Ministerie (OM), een griffier of een gerechtsdeurwaarder
- diploma's gelegaliseerd door DUO
