Certified VOG translation (Certificate of Conduct)
Foreign employers, governments and educational institutions often ask for a sworn translation of your Certificate of Conduct (VOG). Ecrivus International produces the official translation with stamp, into English (Certificate of Conduct) or another language. What is a VOG and what is it called in English?
A VOG is a statement in which Justis, on behalf of the Minister for Legal Protection, confirms that there is no objection to your role or purpose based on your judicial history. In English this document is called a Certificate of Conduct, also known as a Certificate of Good Conduct.
Is the English explanation on the VOG enough?
The VOG is issued only in Dutch. It carries a short note in English, but that is not a full translation. Many foreign authorities therefore accept only a complete sworn translation of the document.
Why a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is produced by a translator listed in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator adds a stamp, signature and statement. This makes the document legally valid and accepted by official authorities.
