Do you need a sworn translation of your hiring agreement for official use? At Ecrivus International you arrange this easily online. What is a certified translation of a hire agreement?
A sworn translation is a translation produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator provides the document with a stamp, a signature and a statement that the translation is a faithful and accurate rendering of the original. This makes the translation legally valid, so that a client, notary or authority can rely on the content being correct.
Why have a hire agreement translated under oath?
Do you work with a foreign client or freelancer, or does your hiring agreement need to be used at an authority abroad? Then an ordinary translation is often not enough. With a sworn translation the arrangements about the assignment, the rate and the duration are recorded accurately and in legal terms in the target language, and the document keeps its value. If you also need the document abroad with an apostillewe can arrange it. The court issues that apostille under the Apostille Convention (The Hague Convention, 1961).

What are the rules for a sworn translation?
The sworn translator declares that the translation is a faithful and accurate representation of the original document or a copy of it. On the sworn translation you will also find the stamp and signature of the sworn translatorin question. The translator must be registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv).
How do you know whether a translator is sworn?
A sworn translator is registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). Only translators in this register may produce sworn translations and provide them with a stamp, signature and statement. For your hiring agreement we always engage such a registered translator.
How can you have a sworn translation legalised?
A sworn translation can be legalised by the court. The court then checks the signature on the certification statement and confirms that it is the signature of the sworn translator in question. For use abroad this is often done with an apostille under the Apostille Convention. We can arrange this for you.
What does it cost to translate a hire agreement under oath?

Does a sworn translation need to be notarised?
In the Netherlands that is not necessary. The sworn translator certifies the translation themselves with a stamp, signature and statement, which makes the document legally valid. A notary is not required for this. For use abroad, however, an apostille from the court may be needed.
