Why a sworn translation is legally valid

A sworn translation is produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator is sworn in by a Dutch court. The translation is provided with a stamp, signature and a statement that the translation matches the source document. This makes the translation legally valid and accepted by official authorities.
