Do you need a sworn translation of a invoice for official use? At Ecrivus International you have your invoice translated under oath online, including a stamp, signature and statement from the translator. This makes your translated commercial invoice legally valid and usable with customs, a foreign authority or your bookkeeping abroad. What is a certified translation of an invoice?
A invoice is a private document that substantiates a delivery or payment. For use abroad, a customer, customs authority or tax authority often asks for a sworn translation. An sworn translation is produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator attaches the translation to a copy of your original invoice and adds a stamp, signature and statement to it. This establishes that the translation matches the original in content.
Why have an invoice translated under oath?
An ordinary translation of invoice is not always accepted by official authorities. A sworn translation does have legally valid status, because the sworn translator vouches with their statement for the accuracy of the text. This matters in international trade, a tender abroad, a dispute over delivery or payment, or when a foreign authority requires a certified translation. Amounts, VAT details, invoice numbers and descriptions are carried over accurately.

What does a certified invoice translation cost?
At Ecrivus you pay €59 per page for a sworn translation of your invoicein total. This rate includes a stamp, proofreading, quality control and registered shipping with Track and Trace. For multiple pages or express delivery, you see the price directly with your order.
How do I know whether a translator is sworn?
A sworn translator is registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). Only a translator listed in this register may produce a sworn translation and add a stamp, signature and statement. Ecrivus works only with translators registered in the Rbtv.
When do I need a certified invoice translation?
You need a sworn translation when an official authority, customs authority or foreign customer requires a legally valid translation of your invoice in such cases. An ordinary translation is often not accepted, because the accuracy is not confirmed by a sworn translator in the Netherlands.
How can I have a sworn translation legalised?
For use abroad, a sworn translation can be legalised. The court then checks the signature of the sworn translatorwho made it. For countries party to the Apostille Convention (The Hague Convention of 1961), this is done with an apostille from the court. Ecrivus can arrange this apostille or legalisation for you.
