What is a certified translation of minutes?
Minutes are the written record of a meeting, for example a shareholders' or board meeting. A sworn translation of that record is produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator provides the translation with a stamp, signature and a statement that the translation is a faithful rendering of the original. This makes the translation legally valid and usable at authorities that require an official translation.
Why engage a sworn translator?
For an ordinary translation of internal minutes no sworn certification is needed. As soon as an external party or foreign authority requires an official version, a sworn translation is required. In the Netherlands the translator must be sworn in by a Dutch court, as the IND and Bureau Wbtv also indicate. The statement and the stamp of that translator make the difference between a loose text and a document that authorities accept.

How much does translating a document cost?
The price depends on the number of pages and the language combination. At Ecrivus a sworn translation starts from €59. You see the rate immediately after you choose the number of pages and the language, so that you know in advance where you stand.
What is the rate for a certified translation?
In the market the price per page for common languages averages between 30 and 60 euros. Less common languages with few available sworn translators are higher. With us you pay a fixed rate per page that you see while ordering.
How do I know whether a translator is sworn?
A sworn translator is registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv) and sworn in by a Dutch court. The registration can be checked via Bureau Wbtv. Our translators meet that requirement, so your minutes are translated by an official sworn translator.
How can I have a sworn translation legalised?
A sworn translation can be legalised by the court. The court then checks the signature on the certification statement. For use abroad an apostille is often needed, arranged via the court under the Apostille Convention (The Hague Convention, 1961). We can have your translated minutes fitted with an apostille or legalisation.
Can I have my minutes translated urgently?
