Certified service agreement translation
A service agreement sets out the arrangements between a client and a service provider. Legally it is a contract for services (Article 7:400 of the Dutch Civil Code), a private contract without the involvement of a government body. If you work with a foreign party or the contract has to be submitted to an authority abroad, a sworn translation is often needed. At Ecrivus you arrange this online through a translator listed in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv).
What makes a certified translation legally valid
An ordinary translation is not enough for official use. For a sworn translation the legal translator confirms that the text is a faithful and accurate representation of your original document. The translation is provided with their stamp, signature and a signed statement, and is attached to the source document. This makes the translation legally valid and accepted by authorities. An AI tool or an ordinary translator cannot issue this statement.

Not for official use. A sworn translation requires a signed statement of accuracy from a qualified, sworn translator. An AI tool cannot legally issue that statement, so such a translation is not legally valid.
