Certified policy translation
Having your policy translated under oath at Ecrivus International is easy to arrange online. An insurance policy is issued by your insurer and contains arrangements that foreign authorities want to be able to read exactly. When a foreign (government) authority asks for an official translation, a sworn translation of your policy produces a legally valid document. The sworn translation of your insurance policy can be ordered from €59.
What is a certified translation of a policy?
A sworn translation is a translation produced by a translator registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). This translator is sworn in by a Dutch court. The translation of your policy comes with a stamp, signature and a statement from the translator. With this the sworn translator declares that the translation is a faithful rendering of your original insurance policy, which makes the document legally valid for official use.
Why a certified translation of your insurance policy
A regular translation of your policy is not always enough. Foreign authorities, insurers or bodies may require the translation to be official and traceable. A policy contains legal and financial provisions, so an accurate rendering is important. At Ecrivus International only qualified and sworn translators are affiliated, with broad experience in translating policiesso that you can trust that your policy is accurately translated into the language you need.

Frequently asked questions about translating a policy
What is a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is a translation produced by a sworn translator. That is a translator who, on the basis of training and professional skills, has been sworn in by the court and may therefore produce a sworn translation of this kind. For your policy this means that the translation is legally valid for use at official authorities.
How do you know whether a translator is sworn?
A sworn translator is registered in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). You can look up a sworn translator via the website of Bureau Wbtv. At Ecrivus International only sworn and qualified translators are affiliated, so that your policy is always translated by a registered translator.
How much does it cost to translate a policy under oath?
The sworn translation of a policy can be ordered at Ecrivus International from €59. The final price depends on the number of pages and the chosen language combination, which you select above.
Can ChatGPT translate a document?
An AI translation can help with everyday communication, but it does not produce a legally valid translation. Official authorities only accept a sworn translation with a stamp, signature and statement from a translator from the Rbtv. For your policy you therefore need a sworn translator.
Into which languages can you translate your policy?
You can choose from hundreds of language combinations, including Dutch-English. You select the desired language combination above when placing your order.
