What is a deed of building rights?

A deed right of superficies is a notarial deed in which the building right is recorded. The right of superficies gives you the right to own a building, structure or planting on or in land belonging to someone else. The deed is drawn up by a civil-law notary and registered in the public records of the Land Registry. Because this is an official legal document, authorities abroad almost always ask for a sworn translation.

Why a sworn translation?

A sworn translation is produced by a translator sworn in by a Dutch court and listed in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator adds a stamp, signature and a signed statement that the translation has been made truthfully and completely. This gives the translation legal force and it is accepted by courts, notaries, municipalities and foreign governments. A regular or machine translation lacks this status and is not valid for official use.
