A sworn translation is produced by a translator listed in the Dutch Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). The translator adds a stamp, a signature and a signed statement that the translation matches the original. This is why the translation is recognised as legally valid by notaries, courts and foreign authorities. A regular translation lacks this status and is usually not accepted for official deeds.
